About Commissioner Anne Hollonds

Anne Hollonds is Australia’s National Children’s Commissioner. Formerly Director of the Australian Institute of Family Studies, for 23 years Anne was Chief Executive of government and non-government organisations focussed on research, policy, and practice in child and family wellbeing.

As a psychologist, Anne has worked extensively in frontline practice, including child protection, domestic and family violence, mental health, child and family counselling, parenting education, family law counselling, and community development.

Anne currently contributes to several advisory groups, including the Australian Child Maltreatment Study, NSW Domestic and Family Violence and Sexual Assault Council, and the National Plan Advisory Group (NPAG).

Dr Jodie Lowinger, DClin Psych MSc (USyd) BSc Psych Hons 1 University Medal (UNSW), is a clinical psychologist and executive performance coach who is recognised as one of the world’s leading anxiety, mindset, and resilience experts. She is an in-demand keynote speaker and best-selling author of The Mind Strength Method.

Dr Jodie makes the neuroscience of anxiety and mindset accessible as CEO and founder of and the creator of The Mind Strength Method, which was recently named one of the 50 Australian Inventions Changing the World. In our conversation Matt Tyler on Boys & Mental health, he will help us:

About Ben Hanger

Drew’s current role at the Men’s Project is as Prevention Coordinator: Education sees him working with a range of schools to deliver teacher training, student, and parent workshops on healthy masculinities.

Drew’s background is in education as secondary school teacher with almost 10 years of experience working with young people. Drew has spent time working as Student Wellbeing Coordinator: Year 9 and 10 and has a passion for adolescent development and wellbeing.

 

About Matt Tyler

Matt Tyler is the executive director of The Men’s Project at Jesuit Social Services working with a team committed to providing leadership on the reduction of violence and other harmful behaviours prevalent among boys and men. A particularly important part of this work is broadening the definition of what it means to be a man by translating findings from The Men’s Project’s Man Box research into practice. 

Matt brings to his role over 10 years of experience across the private, public, academic and community sectors. Prior to joining Jesuit Social Services he worked as a fellow for Harvard’s Government Performance Lab, focused on child protection, and he has also worked on projects related to family violence and mental health. He is trained as an economist with a particular focus on statistics, holding a Master of Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School and Honours in Economics from Monash University.

Will the conference be held LIVE?

Yes! The entire Digital Conference is a LIVE, online event. Note that VIP tickets will also receive pre-recorded access to Breaking Point the Video Guide with Dr Justin Coulson.

This course is designed for parents. The content will be relatively safe for children, but is not intended for them.

Yes! All three sessions, plus the Q&A, will be LIVE events. But each session will be recorded so that you can catch up when it suits you. All tickets include 12 months guaranteed recording access. That means that you will definitely have access for at least a year, but your access may not necessarily be revoked after that 12–month period.

The Breaking Point Digital Conference is scheduled to start at 9:00am AEST on Thursday 18th April, 2024. The remaining sessions will be held on Friday 19th April. It is a live, online event, so you can join wherever you have internet access. Each session goes for 60-minutes. The final Q&A with Dr Coulson will be from 7–8pm AEST.
