Today is a big day. You’ve made it to the end of the connection challenge – and there’s just one
more activity to go.
One of the most powerful ways that we can build our happiness and strengthen our relationships is by practicing gratitude. For this activity you will need a little bit of time.
Go back to your list of things you love about your daughter. (It’s the one from Day 1 of the challenge.) Take some time for this: slowly write a letter explaining to your daughter the things you love about her. Use the list as a beginning. But be explicit. Go through things clearly. Highlight her character strengths, her goodness, and the things you’ve seen this week as you have connected more intentionally.
When you are finished, find a private moment and invite her to visit with you. Read the letter out aloud to her. Tell her what you love about her and why. Help her know of your gratitude for her. And reassure her of your love for her. Do it face to face. And then simply be together, connected.
